PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
Catholic pastors consult pastoral councils as they carry out their work in the parish. Priests ask councilors to reflect on certain aspects of life in the parish community and submit their recommendations. In brief, the primary work of the pastoral council is pastoral planning. Pastoral councils were first recommended in the Second Vatican Council's “Decree on the Pastoral Office of Bishops.” Members of the Parish Pastoral Council are called to pray for the Parish Priest and assist him fully in his work. |
